WIFE VS. SECRETARY, MGM, 1936 |
This film gave Jean a chance to really "act".
Jake Stanhope, played by Clark Gable is married to Linda, played
by Myrna
Loy. Jean plays Helen Wilson, his secretary assistant who loves
him, but knows that he is happily married. The story revolves around
the seed of jealousy that is sown in Linda's mind. Jean has a particularly
good and poignant scene when she tells Linda that Jake still loves
her. |
| This film if a favorite for me because it shows what a great actress
Jean was and what she might have become is she hadn't died so young.
Its fun to read this
review which tells more about this film. |
