This historical epic by Hervey Allen was a best seller and neatly,
if melodramatically brought to the screen as a vehicle for Frederick
March. Although many feel that March was too old for the part, no
one argued with Olivia as the the young girl he loves, Angela, the
daughter of the cook at his adopted parents home.
The film revolves around Anthony's life and how he and Angela
never seem to be able to stay together. They are separated many
times and Anthony goes through many episodes.
