Bette Davis filmography

The Petrified Forest
Warner Brothers, 1936

Starring Humphrey Bogart, Leslie Howard, and Bette as the female lead this is a classic story with modern undertones. It was first a hit stage play with Howard and Bogart that transitioned nicely to the screen. Clever dialog and has all of its characters longing for a better place. Bogart's breakout film and one of Bette's best. Don't miss it.

The Cast includes:

  • Leslie Howard .... Alan Squier
  • Bette Davis .... Gabrielle 'Gabby' Maple
  • Genevieve Tobin .... Mrs. Edith Chisholm
  • Dick Foran .... Boze Hertzlinger
  • Humphrey Bogart .... Duke Mantee
  • Joe Sawyer .... Jackie Cooper
  • Porter Hall .... Jason Maple
  • Charley Grapewin .... Gramp Maple
  • Paul Harvey .... Mr. Chisholm
  • Eddie Acuff .... Nick, Lineman
  • Adrian Morris .... Ruby
  • Nina Campana .... 'Fat' Paula, the Cook
  • Slim Thompson .... Slim
  • John Alexander .... Joseph, Chisholm's chauffeur
