All
This And Heaven Too
Warner Brothers, 1940
In
this film Bette is sweet, soft spoken and docile. A great change-of-pace
for the legendary actress. She has excellent chemistry with
her leading man, Charles
Boyer, (in their only film together). Barbara O'Neil, is
the nasty character in this one. Bette plays the governess
to Boyer's children. Their mother played by Barbara O'Neil,
hates her children and only wants to hang onto her husband
for security. Bette is scorned because its rumored that her
character and Boyer had an affair. Its Bette at her melodramatic
best. Max Steiner's musical score was never better.
