Tyrone Power plays a young man who joins a carnival as a barker and Joan plays a mind-reader who is attracted by Power, but she is already married to her partner in her act. Power's character kills her husband and learns her secrets, then leaves Joan to go off with a younger woman and be famous. However, he does get his in the end. This was a critical success and Joan is fine in it.
